Our Boat is a 40 foot, 1984 Beneteau First 38 Sloop, specifically designed by Jean Berret as a Global Offshore Racer/Cruiser. First 38's have a Category 1 Certificate, which means they were built for unrestricted offshore use; many sister ships have circumnavigated the globe. The design has a high emphasis on racing features, yet is still substantially equipped for comfortable cruising.
